In June 1956, the Executive Yuan replied to President Chiang Kai-shek’s inquiry about the relocation of the Fujian Provincial Government to Taiwan.

This is a manuscript signed by Chang Chun, Secretary-General of the Presidential Office, to President Chiang Kai-shek in June 1956, with the subject matter being “When can the Fujian Provincial Government move to Taiwan?” Secretary-General Chang Chun of the Presidential Office issued a letter to Executive Yuan Premier Yu Hung-chun, who replied that the “Measures for Military Administration in Kinmen and Matsu”, which the Ministry of National Defense submitted for approval, had been submitted to the Legislative Yuan for decision; the title was amended to “Experimental Measures for Military Administration in Kinmen and Matsu Regions”, and it was implemented by an order of the Legislative Yuan on June 23, 1956; the Ministry of National Defense was also requested to convene the relevant authorities to quickly agree on the date of handover and specific handover items between the Fujian Provincial Government and the local administrative affairs committees of Kinmen and Matsu, and to report the agreed results for investigation by the end of June. President Chiang Kai-shek replied with: “Read”. Subsequently, on July 20, 1956, the 24 remaining staff members were taken together on a special flight to Taiwan and set up their offices in Xindian Township, Taipei County (now Xindian District, New Taipei City).
